Dating a lever rifle
« on: October 08, 2007, 01:27:22 PM »
Can anyone tell me when a rifle may have been made?  I know it's possible with Marlins and Winchesters, but I've not come across the same info for Mossberg.

I have a New Haven Model 679 (Mossberg 472) in 30-30, ser #1314XXX.  Can anyone give me an idea or direct me to a source for dating?

The National Mossberg Collectors Association (NMCA) can help you I'm sure. If you like old Mossbergs you should check into their org.. Vic and Cheryl Havlin own and operate Havlin sales. The members have world of knowledge on any Mossberg. You can find them at the following sites.
www.mossbergcollectors.org
www.havlinsales.com

Good luck!
