I was out doing some reloading for the 25.06. Great gun, good shooter. Well this is where the tinkering came into my thoughts. I have re sized many 30.06 down to fit the 25.06, also have done many .270 down to 25.06 (much more trimming for these) I was working on the 270' brass while thinking that this perhaps could be converted into 25.06 AI brass. With a bolt gun, I would need to reset the head space, by removing one thread, to fit the new chamber. BUT to have the 25.06 AI. on the NEF ultra barrel. I can not set back the head spacing on NEF barrels. This is where the 270 cases come into play. If the chamber is reamed out just a tad longer then the traditional 25.06 AI. Use 270 brass to fill the gap, thus eliminating short throat's on the 25.06 or 30.06 brass? Granted it would now technically be a 25.06 AI all the way it would have a slight larger case volume. Well think that one over for a bit. I am headed to the drawing board and checking the spec's on 25.06 vs. 25.06 AI, vs 270.
Any comments on whether it would be do able? Or should I just get more air to clear out the cleaning solvents in the relaoding area.
