Yes Gettysburg was one of the best times and most memorable of my life. Just to see the background support, special effects , pyrotechnic es stunt men smoke machines and the mini helicopter with a camera platform for the overhead shots was awesome.if anyone is a Civil War buff and hasn't seen it yet I do recommend taking a trip to your local Blockbuster or local video rental store and rent a copy. It is a bit long at about 4 hours but a good way to pass a rainy afternoon.
For the carriage I have always liked the look of the antique R.H.Brown or Strong 4 truck navel or yacht cannon so i have access to some 1 1/2 " mahogany so i think that will look alright.
