New Remington Trigger
« on: June 11, 2007, 02:16:28 PM »
I just picked up a new 700, 280 50th anniversary edition. The new trigger is great! Mine pulled at 2.75 crisp pounds from the factory! The first factory trigger ever that I do not intend to replace or adjust. The fit and finish looks to be better than in previous years too.

Thanks for the update!!  ;D

I've heard nothing but good things about the new trigger. Granted I've only talked to maybe 4 people who own a model with it, but seeing as they are the type that always replaced the unit altogether or readjusted the stock ones, for them to Not tinker with it but to also praise it is good news for us!!

It is indeed time for a new addition to this household. I am looking at the 700 XCR Tactical in .308

Most impressive. Any other members out there that got a model with the new trigger? If so, chime in with the good/bad news  8)

I have the new trigger on my Sendero SF II (264 Win. Mag). Was too heavy before, adjusted one hex head screw, now it is light.

I went by the shop yesterday where I ordered my new 700 Varmint 243. Believe it or not he ordered it one day and had it the next day. I stopped by to give him some more money on it. Any ways I was checking it out and the trigger has no creep to it at all and breaks like glass. I do not know what the pull weight was but it was still a little on the heavy side. He said he would adjust it down for me. I hope to bring it home today but I have to see what my pay check looks like first.  Dale

After taking one of the new guys apart, its the same old trigger group as far as i could tell.  It does have a better finish on the surfaces though fwiw.  This is GREAT news though!  Its hard to beat a 700 trigger group...even with a drop in imho.
I am not afraid to make an example out of you

Agreed. The finish is waaaay better than the old triggers, it's evident as soon as you look at the unit after removing the action from the stock.
