what are the opportunities to hunt hogs around Lubbock in the winter time? my sister will be attending Texas tech this fall and I'm sure we will be going to visit and I would like to try some wild pork meat if it is possible.

Well, nobody from near there has answered your post, so here's a few thoughts that someone else with more local knowledge can expound on.  I haven't been to Lubbock since last summer when I worked the airport, and I don't get much west of Wichita Falls these days.  My best guess is that they aren't exactly overrun with pigs.  But don't let that stop ya from checkin' it out!  You might dial up http://www.newspapers.com and search out the Lubbock paper for lease ads and see if the outdoors section has anything.  Good Luck! :)   PS:  Good college there.

I live in Lubbock,  Paducah is a good place to look for day hunting.   There are a lot around Spur however access is not that easy if cost is an issue. There is bow hunting for a short season at the Matador WMA, success rates published are not that great.  Stu Moore owns a motel in Paducah and acts as a go between for many area land owners in that area, think everyone in the town knows him so getting his number, I have it at work but not here.  I would of replied to yhouearlier but I have been out of sgtate for the past week, if you have more questions post them or email me, maybe I can help.
