« on: September 08, 2007, 05:08:19 AM »
I added 30-30 and a 45-70 barrels this week...now I have to decide if I buy dies and components and keep them along with my current barrels or get rid of duplicates or close to duplicates (500/45-70) (30-30/7.62x39) or ....

I know, I know....ya'll are going to say keep 'em all.......or maybe....sell them cheap.....here ;D

Congrats, I vote to keep em all, I've only sold actual duplicates, and only sometimes, it's not easy for a Handiholic to let go of a barrel, ya know!!! ;D

It's hard to get rid of good shooters but it seems when you do..you wind up with more of them....they are like rabbits...and will multiply like crazy if you don't thin them out from time to time :D :D :D

keep em. even if they are close to each other within a short time you will be asking yourself why you did sell them. and then you will most likely get new ones to replace them. just keep em so you only have to buy them once.

Good tools (dies etc.) are like good machinery. They are always good and don't get any cheaper. How many times do you wish you had back what you sold because you weren't using it? Hang on to 'em.

Keep them all and look for used NAME BRAND dies. They are cheaper to feed and enjoy that way!!

I find used dies about $10, these are both fairly common calibers. Little looking should new good results.

I have an old set of saeco universal 30 cal dies as long as you are firing the brass in the same gun I can load about any 30 cal /7.62 I've loaded every thing from nagant pistol rounds to 7.7 jap with them .
I have a $100 set of redding 30-30 ackley dies I never use  and use the old saeco's I paid $5 for at a flea market.
