35 Whelen
« on: September 04, 2007, 09:42:26 AM »
I have a just about new 35 Whelen Handi rifle 22 inch barrel. I have only fired it ten times with Remington ammo and had not misfires or anything and it shot pretty well. I have been reading here about misfires and wondered if reloading by just neck sizing the brass seem to cure the problem. I have so many irons in the fire that I can't decide weather to mess with it or not. What kind of performance are you other guys getting with yours. I have one box of the Federal TB shells that I have not tried at all yet.

If I decide not to work with it anymore I will list it in the classifieds here. Thanks.
shot placement is everything.

So far mine has worked very well. My new 45 LC works well but I wish it had the ejector. The extractor would be fine if it pulled them out another quarter inch or so.
shot placement is everything.

Mine has had problems that may or may-not be the total fault of the rifle but it shoots great. It's a great cartridge. Good luck. - F50
