Pyrodex CTG
« on: September 08, 2007, 11:28:52 AM »
I was recently given two pounds of Pyrodex CTG. It was a coarse grain Pyrodex made for black powder cartridges, and hasn't been made in probably ten years or more. Has anyone tried it in a modern inline with a shotgun primer to ignite it? I would think it might have some trouble in a sidelock, but the primer should be plenty to ignite it, just like it would ignite the powder in a cartridge.

You can use it but it's really big grains. If you use it, use it in something big bore. It won't make that big a difference.
