I "tried" to shim up the forend on my handi & I have somehow managed to strip the screw holes out on the forend.I thought about just ordering a new forend but thought i would see if anyone had suggestions here first.

There are no threads in the forend, they're on the nut that's on the barrel..........

if you are talking about the screw holes for the metal in the back of the forend you can put a few drops of super glue in the holes before inserting the screws. dont worry, you will be able to unscrew them again. it will soak into the wood to fill the holes. ive done this with a few old flintlocks with much success.

One fix is to drill the holes out with a 1/8" or 3/16" drill bit, then glue pieces of dowel in the holes, then drill new holes after the glue cures. A temporary fix is to use a piece of toothpick in the hole to make the screw tight again. Tallyho's method for butt pad hole repair of using sawdust and glue would work too, that's in the FAQs.

I used super glue or epoxy.  Hey, maybe that is why NEF keeps giving me crappy barrel fittings with this stock set........they can unscrew the spacer to use a longer or shorter one.
