Used trap prices
« on: September 07, 2007, 01:14:35 AM »
Going to Ohio trappers convention today. I hope to buy some used traps. I"m not much of a haggler, so, what should I pay for old traps? I've got the Duke prices in my pocket as a guide.

          Rat,

     For 1 1/2's  L.S's.  'don't give more than' $3.50- $4.
#2 L.S.'s  $5.
1 1/2 coils  #5.
These are good prices if the traps are not worn out.

     Traps are going up and they don't make good ones anymore.
I don't like dukes.
If you were to buy a few dozen remember all trappers are always broke
 and to make an offer lower than they want as {you are the one with the money.}
 You don't have to haggle, just don't buy them.

     Hope I ain't too far out of line and good luck.

           Rat and Chacto,

Yeah, the Dukes are decent if you check out each one and make sure it sets right.
And for $5. you can't go wrong with Dukes rather than used traps.
I guess I am just old and set in my ways.
