Winching through an area with little to tie off on

I'm looking for idea's.

Those of you that have area's (over 50' long) you must winch yourself through with little to tie off on must have developed a "system."

It might be swamp, rock, sand, snow, etcetera...what and how are you doing it?

I did buy 300' of some military webbing I plan on tying loops every 40' so so.

Obviously long rope is simple and eventually you'll find a tie off point. But any of you make a permanent tie off. Did you sink a post in the ground on either side, dig down and lay a dead head anchor...

No permanent tie off point.  I've never been stuck in the same spot twice I guess.  You might take a portable tie off point with you, ie: boat anchor.   You can set the anchor out, and make sure it gets into the ground, and winch yourself out.  You might use that long tow strap in your picture so that you can find rather solid ground in which to set the anchor.  Good luck..

Buddie and I got a atv (coot type) stuck in a muddie hole once in AK. Had a 100 ft of rope, cut a sapling about 6 or 8 feet long and tied the rope to it and with it leaning towards the atv stuck the pole in the ground and pullet it back, then moved back and stuck it in the ground and did the same thing several times. it was slow work but the only way we could get the atv out of the mud hole. Don't know ifin this will help, there wasant any trees or any place we could set up a spanish windlass. No winch on the coot.

Make sure you go out with a partner or two.  It's never a good practice to go out alone into the woods.  Especially in Alaska.  Only one machine needs the winch.  Which ever machine isn't stuck can become the anchor to pull from.  A good tow strap is always a good idea to have as well.  I'd recommend about a 20'-30' strap.  My friends and I go out several times a year and it isn't considered a good ride unless all of us gets stuck (so bad that we need to pulled out) at least once.
