side to side play ?

i can't remember if this normal...when i break my 243 open i can "wiggle" a tad from side-side..it has about 200 round's through it now...my new 280..is solid..only 20 round's..if this in one of those subject's that has been beat to death..sorry..

Yup, old, old business. The forend controls how tight the barrel is when the action is open, it also affects accuracy, depending on how tight it fits. If the barrel is tight with no wiggle when the action is closed without the forend on, there's no serious problem to worry about, if it's loose, you need a new barrel or it needs to be shimmed. Wood forends are easy to tighten by adding shims between the spacer and forend or bedding the spacer, synthetic forends aren't so easy cuz they have no spacer. thank's again tim..i took "er" apart this afternoon for a good "scrubbin" without the forearm attached she doesn't wiggle at all with the action closed..i'm good..
