Sims Limb Saver recoil pad
« on: August 13, 2007, 04:25:43 PM »
I heard of this problem before, but can't remember where. Here is a update anyway. My Limb Saver is between 2 and 2 1/2 years old. Recently it has started to look kind of ragged around the edges. I pulled the Encore out of the safe this morning and the Sims looked like it was melting. In fact part of it rubbed off. I called Sims and talked to a very nice lady named Stephanie. She said a couple years ago they got a batch of rubber in from a outside vendor that was under cured and a whole batch of pads came out screwed up. She apologized and  got my address and said a new pad would be shipped out tomorrow, under warranty, by priority mail. It's awfully hard to argue with customer service like that. Sims has definately earned my business. ;)

This topic has been discussed here some time ago. I too had a problem last year with the same response from the manufacturer...free replacement with no questions asked. It happened again with the remaining two pads and I received replacement pads yesterday. All 4-pads were purchased about the same time so I do not believe this will be an on going problem (at least I hope!). Even so, a great product in reducing the effect of recoil on my shoulder.  8)

Ditto on the great customer service from SIMS. I pulled(literally) my  Encore from the safe the other day and got a big hunk of foam with it. The gunk inside of the pad had seeped out, leaving an extremely sticky surface that likes foam alot. I called SIMS and they sent me another one by priority mail.

mine seems to be fine. the only problem its sorta like a eraser and some of the original look had worn off more than a plane ole rubber recoil pad

I had the same problem, Sims sent me a replacement at no cost, it came overnight.  Thing is, I had to grind the new one down just a tad to get the fit I wanted.  (The old one was on a Boyd's Stock I had refinished myself so it was just a matter of touching the butt stock portion up with lin speed.)

Great customer service, good folks.
