Bore guide stuck in chamber

I was using an EJS bore guide to clean my 8x57.  Unknown to me, the tip, forward of the o ring, broke off in the chamber.  To make matters worse, I took the rifle out to the shooting bench and tried to chamber a round before I realized the tip was in there. This really forced the tip into the leade.  I've tried  running a bore brush thru the barrel with no success.  The hole thru the guide tip is slightly bigger than the barrel so there's not much hope of running anything thru there and snagging it. Right now I've got the barrel and action in the freezer.

Try running an oversized bore brush or an undersized chamber brush in from the chamber end.  That is often enough to remove even broken cases from the chamber.

Soak the bore with Kroil and see if you can punch it out.............wooden dowel, maybe?

How about a long screw that can be turned into the the end of the guide and pulled out? Like a lag bolt or similar. I have removed stuck bullets  from A-R's this way. I had to drill a hole in the bullet first but it was similar.    KN

I would use a tap but the screw might work. Be very careful and avoid damaging the chamber or throat. If the tap/screw is in the chamber a rod can be used to punch out the piece of the guide.

I think I would try as gunnut69 suggested. Measure the ID of the piece that came out right before the break and try to find a tap the appropriate size and run it in to it. It may break free just by tapping it. If not able to pull it out, then as gunnut69 suggested, tap it out from the bore side. Putting some Kriol in there before tapping would not hurt a thing, it would help lube up the tapping and loosen around the piece in the chamber. Above all have patience and do not do something foolish.

Thanks to Johnny Boggs, a retired gun smith.  We got a bottoming tap that was big enough to bite into the hole in the guide tip (its plastic). Using a looong extension, we started the tap and then from the muzzle end tapped a cleaning rod against the tap a couple times and it popped right out.  No damage to the chamber, leade, or bore.  Ain't things easy when you know how.
