guide gun and there bullets

hello out there,i just purchased a marlin 1895ss guide gun and booked a bison hunt in south dakota,my question is i bought two boxes of garrets hammerhead bullets at 1650fps has anybody used these bullets in their huntingand if so i would like to know how they liked them,thanks Ron

forgot to tell you that the garret hammerheads i mentioned above are420 grain hardcast lead was to excited after i got confirmation on the hunt

never shot actual hammerhead ammo but have shot lots of handloads using simular bullets and that load will shoot through about any buffalo. Should be more then plenty for what your doing.

Besides ensuring there's NO other animal behind the one you shoot at, you'd be well advised to tie a pillow to yore butt, B4 touching one of them rounds off ! ;D

Go back to the Garrett website and read the reviews.  Those are real people and real animals they used them on.  I think I'd take their word for it.

Garrett and Buffalo Bore are some of the nastiest ammo that you can shoot out of your Guide Gun. I believe that Cape Buffalo have been taken with theses loads. I've never done it, but others have, and I think that you are all set. Probably absolutely no fun sighting in off the bench, though! Show us some pics of your bison!

If you get the chance I'd lioke to know what they chrono from the GG.  I plan on getting some for an AK hunt in 2009.
