value of 10 22 mag slightly used

Any one have an opinion of the person to person sale value of the 10 22 ruger 22mag.  I need to know as I am helping a friend who wants one to obtain one, but must know what one is worth.. he does not need a box or instructions it is for hunting I would want to sell it for what it is worth but not over that nor under that by much... and I do not know, but I bet someone here does know.

From  what i have read and see lately  he hadbetter have at least $500 on him  if he is lookin  for one of those critters.
