one last hunt for a soldier

hey guys i'm stationed at ft hood me and my wife live in temple , i'm leaving for iraq in early nov. and i was hoping that some one might know of some land around here that i might be able to get a deer off of on opening day??? i haven't gone deer hunting in two years and it would mean a lot to get one more chance at a deer.

I thought Ft. Hood had hunting on the base?   Has that gone away?   Been a while since I heard that..
