Not extensively knowledgable here but don't they traditionally bob the tail of the German Shorthair? Could it possibly be a standard English Pointer?

looks like my liver & white English pointer, she is gun shy but a good dog & great nose if I could hunt birds with a bow or an air rifle shot gun I would be good to go
