I hurt my shoulder so I bought a rhino magnum to hunt with this fall. It is very loud compared to my compound bows. Is there a good way to silence it. Also are the crossbows with recurve limbs better or quieter than the compound ones. Anyone  shoot the old bear razorheads out of their crossbows. Thanks for any info.        Daryl

every cross bow is loud compared to a compound bow some more so then others.
the heaver arrow the quieter the bow will be you may want to shoot the heaviest arrow the maker recommends.
you can try some of the limb silencers

nether one is better or worse then the other, just different styles both have advantages and disadvantages. it is more a personal preference

most crossbows work best with mechanical or smaller profile fixed blade B.H. but if you have some you want to try go ahead and try them and see how they fly

My Horton with the mechanical broadheads shoot just about the same as with the target points. Makes it a simple thing to practise with the target points, then just shoot a few with the broadhead to fine tune and you are done.
I used some of the limbsilencer products and they worked great on my compound xbow.

My Opinion but I have said since this board has started several times I feel the recuve xbows are quieter. I know my Wolverine Excaliber is. I found if the brace height is set wrong it will "twang" more but if set in what I suppose you could call the sweet spot they to my opinion are quieter. My string has them little rubber band like things on them and it seems to help. Now maybe a higher pound recurve is louder but my Wolverine is not that noisy so I would guess a Excaliber Vixen would not be either.
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.
