A Freeway Runs Through It...An urban adventure!

Howdy,

I've got a great idea for a book that I know will be eventually be made into a movie.  It's similar to one of my favorite movies "A River Runs Through It".  It should be called "A Freeway Runs Through It...An urban adventure!".  There is a interstate freeway interchange right by my house in Minneapolis.  In the interchange is one of those runoff catching ponds that the highway engineers put in to catch the storm runoff from the interstate.  I've been watching it some this spring as I drove around the ramp and I kept noticing rises in the water. This thing shouldn't have any fish in it.  It's too shallow and should freeze out and there's no creek or anything running into it but it sure looked like something was raising for the bugs.  Tonight I walked over there with my fly rod and sure enough it's full of green sunfish.  They hit on a dark colored dryfly (I don't know the names of the patterns) and went crazy with a light color small tungsten bead sinker.  I only fished a little while but I bet I caught 15 or 20 of those little buggers.  I counted at the end, I was getting one strike for every two casts.  That's fast action that keeps the interest of an attention deficit adult like me. I don't think that God makes any of them little suckers big enough to keep and eat but on my light 4 weight rod they're fun to catch.  The only problem is that I felt kinda silly there and I had 4 cars shouting out abuse to me as they drove around the cloverleaf. They shouted things like there ain't any fish in there and like that...and they were right, there shouldn't have been any fish in there as far as I can see.   All in all a fun adventure!
