Kart-9mm barrel Accuracy

Has anyone tried a KART  9mm barrel??? Could you share results in accuracy-bullet wt-type of powder?? Thanks Erod

I have a Kart 45 barrel for a target pistol. It fouls badly with the same loads I use in other guns without fouling.

That's funny,  I have a Kart barrel in my 45 wad gun, and its the only barrel in any gun that I have ever owned that doesn't foul at all.
I'm building a 1911 in 38 Super with a kart barrel, but it isn't done yet so I can't comment on accuracy or fouling.

        Im not sure what kind of fouling your refering to..  But lead fouling seems to be an industry standard.. I have never bought a target  1911 barrel and am here to work on my 9mm..  back tobarrels..   A 2500.00 black pwder sharps i bought came with breakin insturctions.. if shooting lead, shoot two rounds, clean from the breach and repeat for 20 rounds.. Or to do Do this with jacketed   shoot one round and then clean, repeat for ten rounds..  And this is the finest looking  new barrel ive ever seen. ... So a rough barrel will need alot more..A black powder .62 call barrel took lots of steel wooling and 1000 rounds before it came around.(be very carefull at the muzzel...  I dont like  shoot lapping it will make the breach larger than the muzzel....  If it leads, or what ever and is milled properly it could just need to be shot in...  Put 500 rounds or so hard ball thru her, and clean meticulously after each  10 rounds...  You cant break in a barrel with junk in it..  I think that may be your problem...  Or you could call them and tell them its problem...  If they are a good company they want you to be happy... Or they may tell you how to break it in... And never use a stainless steel brush... dave

Great advice Dave-I did that on my last 2 Kart 45's. They are OK. Actually I had hoped to use 115g/9mm/LSWC and wondered if that particular barrel,with a 1:15 twist,would produce good accuracy (at 25yds) with these bullets or would I have  to use heavier bullets. Will get barrel end of month and install 2 weeks later.Will be using 3.5g/B'eye powder or equivalent.Tnx

My 9mm trojan has probably 5000 rounds of lead through it this summer without a cleaning of any kind and its still shinny as a babys but. A kart barrel should be a top quality barrel and if your using properly sized cast bullets should not be leading at all. My gun likes bullets sized to .357 but ive seen 9s that required .358 bullets. Id try that and if its still leaded id send it back for replacement.
