Mould wanted - Lyman 323471
« on: March 21, 2007, 07:24:38 PM »
I'm trying to get my Swedish rolling block in 8 x 58R Danish Krag shooting.  I need a heavy cast bullet similar to the 215 gr. Lyman Loverin 323471.  Anyone have one for sale?

Howdy,
That's liable to be a tough one to find. I'd try eBay.com first and be patient. That number shows up from time to time. I'd sell mine, but the other cavity in the block is a 321297- a 185-grain FN that I shoot out of a .32 Special Winchester 94. You might try bullets designed for the .32-40 or the Special. There are some long heavy ones out there and you might find a suitable mould quicker.

Good luck,
Bitterroot

Yeah I know.  Too bad Lyman dropped it, it is so useful for 8 x 57's and now I have an 8 x 58RD.  I do have a 190 gr. Hoch nose-pour for my .32-40 Schuetzen (Ruger #3)  It will have to do until one surfaces.

over on Cast boolits . com there is the possibility of a group buy for a 180 gr 8mm flat point bullet. cost probably about $100 or so.

You may want to check it out.

I think I'll stick with the 190gr. HOCH nose-pour, for now.  Thanks for the tip, and I am still looking for a 323471

GENERALLY at the Cast boolit site.....

the 8mm mould I was referring to was not going to be a lee mould it was not going to be an aluminum mould and the $100 was going to be the total cost for one copy of the mould.

HEY!
Check ebay. There is a listing for a Lyman #320378 mould. It is a 243-grain (really) RN-GC. Check under "bullet mould" in the search. This might be more interesting than the 323471!

Sir Charles:
I hope that was you that bought the 320478 mould. 245 grains! Man, that would be like shooting a pencil.

No it wasn't.  I've never played on Ebay.  I heard you need a playpal to "do" it!  Now I hear that Ebay won't play guns anymore!

Check with midsouth shooter's, they normally have two 8mm molds made by lee, but they were designed by a gentleman from the cast boolits website. I believe that one is a heavy 8mm design. Hope this helps, regards, Frank
