Colt Python value ??

I have a Colt Python with a 6 in bbl in blue. It came with rubber grips, I think it was made in the late 80s
What is it worth?

I guess that depends on the condition and how that Royal Blue finish looks. I've seen them from $800 to $1000 with the stainless going even higher. I like the blued better myself.

I picked up a 6 inch Python the other day, a private sale, for less than $600.

Ten years ago I used to set up at gun shows all the time and you could buy Pythons all the time in all shapes and sizes for $400 - $500 dollars.  Everyone badmouthed them because the actions were so delicate that you could break them by passing gas on them.  I never saw a broken one but only know about the rumors.  If you can find one in great shape for less than a grand you should buy it.  I think they are fine, sweet shooting pistols.  BT53
