I took the Handi-Rifle plunge today!
« on: September 21, 2007, 06:50:20 PM »
I was in the gun shop today. The last time I was there they had a used Ultra Varmint Fluted 223 for sale.
I thought about buying it, but I didn't. I was hoping that it would still be there, and wouldn't you know
it, it wasn't! I have been lurking on this board for a while and have been getting very interested in getting
a H&R/NEF single shot. I already have a bunch of 223 brass and dies, so I thought that caliber made the most
sense to me. I am planning to punch a lot of paper with it and eventually do some varmint/coyote hunting.
I chose the Handi Varmint 223 with the 22" heavy barrel and the pallet wood stock and forend SB2-323.
It will be my first Handi, but I have a hell of a feeling it wont be the last. I already have my eye on a
Sportster 17 HMR. Being as how I live in The Peoples Republik of Kalifornia I have to wait 10 days until
I can pick it up. It is going to be fun!

The 223 is pretty popular, it generally shoots well. I do not think you will be sorry about it. Congratulations and happy shooting. ;D

Welcome aboard, congrats on the new Handi, and enjoy the addiction of NEF's.

Yea waiting 10 days  makes a lot of sense. It seems to me that in 10 days you could just perfect your plans if you were going to do something crazy.

Yea, Tell me about it! After 10 days some unstable people just get madder as time goes on. It doesn't bother me that much though.
