The Mueller 8.5-25x44 Tactical would be a good one if you want a high power scope, if you want a bit smaller scope, the APV would fit well. I'm sure Dale will tell you more about the Tactical.

Bull first off I would like to welcome you to the site and say hi. Mueller does make a nice scope for the price. I have owned Nikons and Bushnells and would put it up against there top product. I have the 8.5x25x44 Tactical and could not be happier. The optics are clear and bright. The 1/8'' adjustments seem to be right on. I have killed Groundhogs past 350 yards with my 243 and this scope. I feel that if you make any Mueller choice you will not go wrong. My problem is I think I am going to get into shooting at 1,000 yards. Mueller dose not make a scope above 25 power for this kind of distance. I have never shot at these ranges as of yet and a 25 power scope may work but I really do not think so. I have been doing a lot of reading and it looks like I may have to spend more on the scope than the rifle. I am thinking pretty close to $1,000.00 just don't tell the wife. I am also looking into 1,000 yard ranges here in Pa. It appears there are only a few. The one that is the closest would be about 100 miles.           Dale

best scope deal out there is the bushnell 10X 40mm objective mildot 3200 elite... about $165 delivered... this deal literally cant be matched, i have 1 for shooting my AR 223 at 500 yrds,,, as well as my friends who i told to buy,,, all bought them and love them... if you know of scopes you'll know this is hard to beat.......... fact is all the 3200 and 4200 bushnells are spring airgun rated ... while some may laugh at that, the simple fact is sping airguns wreak havack on scopes and will literally tear them apart at the seams, only the toughest scopes will survive a high powered spring airgun... i spent abput 5 yrs playing with airguns... want to learn about scopes??? ask an airgunner and he will know more then most centerfire shootersw...he has to, or he will loose major money on high dollar scopes ruined with a few shots through an airgun....some scopes are brighter than bushnell... but very few are tougher... go to airgun forums if you want to find the toughest scopes to be had.... but bushnell is a really good starting point... if a scope is high powered spring airgun rated... it's a good one..........

+1 on the 3200 10x40 Bushnell

I have been shooting one for awhile on my 17 rem 700 coyote gun.  Great scope with good resolution.

Another thumbs up for the 3200 10x40.  Next up from there is the Super Sniper at $300.

Make sure the scope you get allows for the elevation adjustment for the longest shots you plan on making.

The Super Sniper has 110 moa adjustment for windage and for elevation.  Not a many scopes can do that.
