I tried this over the weekend re blued a small part so if your interested in re bluing the stuff works excellent
I have a thread in the 1911 form best 1911 for $500.00 You will see the part I redid .I use in rebuilding m/l and Browning all parts but when dip in boiling hot distilled water comes to a blue /black
And it don't come off like cold blue
