Neede help with bbl pin.

I just got a used Contender and you have to drive out the bbl pin to change bbls. I tried the pin just in the frame and it is a tite fit going in but after it is all the way in it is loose and rotates freely. Same with the bbl it will start freely on both sides but is tight until all the way in.
Could it be bent?
Where can I get a new pin?
The frame is hard to open. It is a newer frame with the safety on top of the hammer.

The easiest way to check to see if it's bent is to lay the pin on a flat surface and roll it  and look for a wobble.  Don't think it bent, but you might also try miking it at different locations to see if it changes diameter or is out of round.

Sounds like the previous owner installed one of the aftermarket oversized pins.  They have to be driven in and out.  Some folks feel that they enhance the accuracy of Contenders.  I have never found them to improve any of my Contenders.  Some have even lost accuracy with them.

If you call TC and tell them what you need they will send you one.

Keith is right on in post above.  I do have another thought for you to ponder though.  I am left handed.  My buddy is right handed.  We both shoot contenders in competition and once a year or so, one of us has a problem and needs to borrow a barrel or forend or something.  He has a heck of a time taking my center pin out and I have similar problems with his.  I take my pins in and out the same way every time.  He does also.  We do it from opposite sides of the gun.  Minor wear on one side of the frame?

Have to agree wholeheartedly with Keith on the worth of oversized pins.   None of my Contender frames have ever seen one, and never will.

But it that's what is installed on old coaches frame, a new pin from TC will probaly be very loose in his frame now, and in any barrels that have been driled for the oversized pin.   He may be locked in to using the oversized pins now with that frame and those barrels.

OK I borrowed a pin from my buddies T/C and it worked fine. The bbl and frame are stock not overbore. His pin slides in and out with a little push from a pencil eraser. The gun also breaks open easier with his pin installed. The old pin is rough and no blue left on it.
I will call T/C tomorrow for a new pin.
