Puma 44 mag range report
« on: September 30, 2007, 10:35:36 AM »
Well I got my stainless Puma 44 mag out to the range this morning.  It shot and cycled very well.  I was feeding it 240gr hornady JHP handloads and also Grizzley 320gr cast performance factory loads.  My hornady loads were softer and nothing compared to the Grizzley ammo.  The grizzly ammo wasn't that bad on the shoulder either though all things considered.  Between the two different types of ammo feeding was never an issue.  The gun just worked!

I set up a paper target at 50 yards and shot at it standing up.  I need to practice shooting from standing up because I was all over the place at 50 yards.  When I sat down and shot it off the bench I got a better group of course but I'm still trying to used to the feel of this rifle.  I also fired some rounds at 100 just aiming at different clumps of dirt and what aimed at would turn into a cloud of dust.

This is such a fun gun to shoot!  I'd recommend it to anyone.
