Well, I finally got the money togeather for a holster. Called San Pedro Saddelry, and ordered a Tom Threepersons crossdraw. The bad news is that they're behind on orders and it'll be eight weeks. Aaaargh! If anyone has used one of these holsters, I'd like to hear any comments. Thanks!

That sure looks like a functional piece of leather. I'd like to hear how it fits. I've got a Bisley, 44, 5.5 that I'm working up. So far I've put a Belt Mt pin in it and a gunfighter grip on the right. Seems to kick a lot less than my old 44 S&W. I need to see if the slimmer grip on the rt moves the impact any. Did you order the Blackhawk size holster?

Big Tex,
Their website lets you choose a Ruger Blackhawk or a Vaquero. I have a 7 1/2" Bisley, and I wasn't sure which was the right size, so I called them to place the order. I was looking at the Belt Mountain pins - did it make a difference for you? Mine doesn't have a lot of cylinder play.

I have a Tom Three-Persons holster from Big Tom (San Pedro Saddlery) and I love it. It carries my FA Model 83, and she loves it too. I have three different holsters from them, and all are top quality!!! Happy hunting...

I carry a Ruger SBH cut down to 4-5/8" in the San Pedro Tom Threepersons crossdraw.

Interestingly enough, though they list only certain models of gun that it will fit, if you call them, they will make one for the gun you have.  That's how I got one to fit my gun.

By the way, when the holster arrives you will find it looks a lot nicer than the one they have in the picture.

Anybody know, as long as we're on this topic, whether their Tom Threepersons Left-handed Crossdraw will work satisfactorily for a Right-handed High Cavalry Draw? That is butt-forward on the strong side, with the cylinder just at or below the beltline, tilted forward, but shifted back from the LH crossdraw position. Yeah I know the SASS doesn't like this draw, but they ain't drawin' it; I am. Safe enough if you know what you're doing.
