Monty,
I've had one for quite a while, to my thinking it's real light for that distance. It will hit them with no problem BUT is it going to have enough to put them down is another story.

Monty,
If you are prudent with your ranges, you can use the heavier bullets. You will have to remember what you have and go accordingly. Keep your shots within reason and you should be OK. You just have to be within a respectable range for what you have.

My brother used to "play" with a stock XP 221 FB - it would not stabilize anything heavier than 63 grain Sierra Semi-pointed

One of the guys down in Portland Oregon has a scoped one he uses.  Head or hump shoots the rams to take them down.  Everything else is center punch.  He uses a 60 grain bullet I believe.
A good solid 55 gr bullet like the winchester sp will take the rams from my 223.  My fireball is only a little slower, but I have never shot at rams with it.
Go shoot it.  If they dont fall center hit, shoot them in the nose!!  That will take them.

Hi Steve :D

Thanks for the heads up on where to shoot them

I've been out of the steel shooting awhile and used to use the 44 mag

Hit them and they fall....

Now I will know how to practice !!

Lee gives a load for the 63 gr  @  2400 FPS might work :P
