.223, 308, 30-06, 9mm and 45 auto will be the first thing to become extinct when Hitlary and Nasty Pelosi get in control.

Yup!  Admiral Yamamoto told the Japanese War Council in WW2 that Japan must never invade the USA "because there is a gun behind every blade of grass".  Things haven't changed much.

I see the .308 Marlin and the .30 T/C going away.  I think that most of the Short mags will go (Winchester and Rem).  I think that the .300 WSM will stay, but that is the only one.

.338 Fed probably will go.  The 6.8 SPC, not sure yet.  There are a lot of AR fans loving this one.

I hope the .375 Ruger stays. I would also like the 6.5-284 to become more mainstream so that brass is cheaper.  I would like to get one, but I am cheap and don't want to spend that much for brass.

I'm not sure about the Ultra Mags either.  They probably will stick, and there will be a few floating around, but they aren't really needed.

You know what I dont get, is how they are claming that the .30TC makes the same power as the 30-06 with a shorter case of the same diametrical dimensions.  Maybe their factory loads that they have developed have the same power as your basic 30-06 factory loads, but that is because they are using special development.  I know that when I load my 30-06's, I am using anywhere from 95-102% or so of my case capacity.  So for me, smaller case=less powder, no matter how you look at it.

I see it failing.  I don't know about others, but them saying they are trying to make a case "better" than the 30-06 and therefor why use the -06 is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.  I think I'm gonna go look up some load data for it...

I think for the T/C 30 they have developed unnamed powder for it that you can not buy over the counter. To get the velocities they list you will have to buy your ammo, you will not be able to load to the velocities advertised. Heck, the bought ammo may never live up to its published velocities either. It would not be the first one that didn't. Speaking of gun powders - Lil' Gun made the 17 HMR, without it, the little 17 would probably never been hatched. Lil' Gun has also given the 22 Hornet a mini revival. It does quite well in small capacity cases.

I call then rounds made to make people buy guns. The 30 tc and the .308 marlin do nothing the 300 savage and the 308 dont allready do. The .260 did nothing the 6.5x55 didnt allready do. the short mags are just short mags! who cares! If i want magnum i want big magnum not little cases with magnum stamped on them! In handguns there isnt as many new fancy rounds. The 480 filled a gap that needed filling but still didnt catch on. The 460 filled a gap that didnt need filling (ie 454) and its seems to be catching on just fine go figure! The .500 smith while i dont own one fills a need niche. It allows the biggest and most powerful level of handgunning to be available to the average joe that cant take a lone out to pay for a gun. There are empty spots in guns that are available that id personaly like filled. Id like to see the 250 savage back in ruger ultralights/internationals also in the model 7 rem. Its a good light caliber that does more then the 243 or 6mm without the recoil of the bigger rounds. Id mostly like to see more leverguns chambered in usuable rounds instead of gimicky 300 yards rounds that take a levergun away from what its meant to be. The 358 and 375 jdjs would be nice as would a .475 linebaugh or .500. Lots of guys have linebaughs now and i think marlin could sell a slug of lever guns to those guys. Even a  tamed down 454 or .475 that would push heavy cast bullets (350 45s, 400 475s) to about 1600 fps out of a lever gun would make a formitable gun for the thicks stuff against any game animal.  The 405 and 444 are very much neglected and shouldnt be. But if i could pick one round that i would like to see put in a lever gun and commercialized it would be the 50 alaskan. But in this day and age of short mags and everything having to be faster Marlin saw fit to take a nice handling good looking little rifle. Slapping a barrel thats to long on it a laminated stock, everything made of high tech stainless steal and chambering it in a brand new round  that is no better then others that have died that gave the same ballistics and calling it new and improved. Surprised they dont have a package deal with a 4.5x16x50 scope, a bipod and a thumbhole stock and a bull barrrel. ! I proably should be laughing about this theres proably one out there somewhere set up just like that. The duke and the rifleman are proably rolling over in there graves along with our grandfathers!!

The WSSM line, most of WSM line and the Rem UltraMag(short or long). The 30 T/C won't be here long either. Marlin should have learned their lessons earlier from the 356 and 307.

maybe most have figured out that most critters fall to a standard cal. and mag. loads are mostly hype and kick in many offerings , yes a few are useful but many seem like new packages with same old preform ace !hand guns and shotguns seem to profit the most from being a mag.

What is lost in all these posts is only 4% of the shooters reload. A true minority in firearm sales. If a company don't move forward and expand their offerings, they are doomed to failure, eventually. The TC Icon is doomed to failure and the 30TC with it, but S&W is trying the bolt gun run again. Internal competition with the Icon. This is the American way. You can't rest on your laurels as Winchester management tried to do.
