one gun battery, the ideal drilling
« on: October 05, 2007, 09:09:06 PM »
I have been selling a few guns with the idea of buying a drilling or combo gun. Lately I've been thinking and need your help. If you sold all your guns and wanted a do it all gun what would you buy.

I have been having a few health problems that make long hikes and heavy lifting impossible, So my hunting is mostly limited to deer or small game. A moose hunt with friends would be possible as well as black bear. I have a friend in Maine that I go hunt with every other year for deer and partridge, as they call them. I need a scope for the rifle barrel.

For these uses, and with say a 10,000$ budget what would you look for. New or used? (grin) thanks for the help, Byron

PS, its got to be good looking and handle like a fine double.

Krieghoff 16x16/30-06 or 12x12/30-06 would be my suggestion, with added barrel inserts you would have one gun for every occasion.  I don't have a drilling, since I shoot shotguns left handed and rifles left or right handed the Monte Carlo stock on most drilling's would not work for me.

Great question.
