Cant get 410 barrel to lock up on 20 gauge frame

What is the fix for when the barrel wont latch closed on the frame. It appears that the latch is not sliding over the shelf on the barrel and the latch lever is still down when trying to close the barrel and wont pop up. I have tried to very forcefully get it to latch and it wont do it. The 20 guage barrel latches fine. I need some kind of fix short of tearing the thing down to look at latch surfaces etc. I'm thinking that maybe i need to enlarge latch pivot on the barrel lug.

There are very good barrel fitting instructions listed in thej FAQ and Help at the top of the page.  Most likely you will need to make the hinge notch a little deeper, not enlarge it. First read the help and see if one of those answer the questions you have.   Larry
