Hanger on Forearm Grip for improved Accuracy??
« on: October 19, 2007, 06:02:15 AM »
Hey guys,

I have been contemplating a "hanger" on the forearm grip of my t/c.  They claim it will free float the pistol barrel and give a lot better accuracy.

Does anyone have experience with these?  Do they work and how much do they improve accuracy?  Any input on this will make the buying decision a lot easier.  Also, how much weight does it add to your gun?  Is this the same as those adapters t/c offer so you can shot a 10" to 14" barreled gun with the same forearm?

Thanks,

Bob

I wondered about those, but the decision was made to shoot the gun first, then try a rubber washer or grommet to free float the barrel then try the hangars, as they are undoubtedly the finest most first class option out there... Me, I will try the gun first then most likely try the rubber washer at the point the forend screw comes through... I will bet the price of a hangar that gives me as good accuracy as any other option.. but that is just my opinion \dk

I have several hanger bars on my guns, like the person said shoot it first, if accuracy is poor, then you may opt for the hanger bar, your fore end has to be routed out to accept the bar. I have found a simple solution, place a SS washers between barrel and stock., this has worked. However some use post or bedding blocks.

I use hanger bars almost exclusivly on my Tender and Encore barrels, since most carry custom wood.  Went from Packy's to custom wood with hanger bars and accuracy improved immediatly.  I find it's the only way to go.  Just my 2 cents

Shoot it first and see, the accuracy may be good enough.  After several barrels though, I just go straight to the hanger bar because no matter how good it shot before, the hanger bar always improved it.
