ok guys n girls not to sure where to post this so here we go i went to the range today its closed the 1 in newflorance on furnace lane so i went to the 1 in laughfington not to sure how to spell it neither is the spell check but anyway its closed to so i went to game commission  office in ligonier walk in the lady behind the counter tells me all the ranges are closed she then tells me that the FDA maybe she wasn't sure but some 1 wants the lead out of the ground so they closed all the ranges and dug them up and are redoing them then she says they said the ranges were going to be done before hunting season im thinking not was so mad i took 4 guns all the bells n whistles drove all over the place to shoot not a shot oh i got some pamphlets on the cost increase for gas =600,00.00 $ increase  then they go on about in comparison to the # of days we in PA can hunt it is reasonable to increase the licenses fees then they go on about the quality of bucks since the antler restriction im ready to pack it up move to camp in good ol WV but  to get back to the whole range thing why would they do this now and not in the spring as a hunter i like to make sure im shooting the gun well before  i go in the woods and shoot at any game got a new gun this year just got all the bells and whistles but dont have any public ranges close to me to shoot at just wanted to rant for a moment to some one  thank for being here to vent to gona build a bench strap it on the trailer go to strip cuts find a good back stop and sight in  if anybody has some blueprints or tips for a good bench for this email me at b44mag@netscape.com thanks

Lots opf talk about EPA this and EPA that. EPA did issue new guidelines for gun ranges but they have not mandated anycleanups yet. The PGC elected to do range improvemetns which include recycling spent lead. They should have awarded the the contracts in the spring but waitedf until now. Going to significantly affect the October youth hunts.

Yeah,,,...sad to say about the public ranges. If it's possible for you, see if you can join a local gun\shooting club. Yeah, you gotta (probably) do some stuff like sell tickets 'n dat, and maybe give up a weekend or 2 for range\club maintenance, but in the long run it's a pretty good deal. You'll meet a lot of good people there, plus you'll always have a place to shoot.

Just a thought.

check out my post about state game land ranges I have some valuable links one on the game commission and one on were to shoot any state.
