Happily Disappointed
« on: October 09, 2007, 02:17:33 PM »
I've sighted in my new ammo in 45LC, can't wait to shoot a deer or hog, so I go hunting last knight and my Wife kills a 145lb 5 point.

She didn't use a handgun though, she used a Thomson Encore in 243.------I don't feel too bad, I'll consider that cheating.  This is her picture on my post as well, but that was her first ever 6 point she bagged last year.

Maybe next week end?????????????

Do many of y'all, yup y'all I'm from the south, any way how many of you have wives who hunt with you?

I actually enjoy it.....

I'm happy to see the wives get involved, my wife and both sons hunt...And it saves a lot of arguing about ma going, she asked for a rifle last year for Christmas that's when I gave her an Encore. She likes the safety of the one bullet in and one bullet out idea, Hopefully I get her in to handguns, I haven't suceeded as of yet, she says she doesnt like them.
Not many guys get to buy their wives guns, bullets, tree stands, cammo and such for Christmas because they ask for it...

My wife's a pure city girl. Not one of those full makeup, dress like you're going to a club every day girls but she looks good when we do get a chance to get dressed up. Anyway she wants nothing to do with hunting , won't even go camping unless there's running water and flush toilets there (which pretty much makes it a hotel and not camping). She doesn't give me any grief over going hunting though, probably likes the quiet time, I know I do.

Congrats to the wife on her deer, it's good you found something you both like to do together, that's not always an easy task.

My girl is the opposite of city.  She always wants to be out doing stuff.  Her family is really big into hunting, so she is always talking smack about it.  It's good though, it keeps me on my toes - I ain't one to let a girl beat me, but I'll sure let her try. ;)

It's good to stay away from the city girls though.. I've a had a couple where it was like... hey, grab your wallet and lets have some fun....  oh boy.. lets...

The whole state of SC isn't as lucky. The Upstate starts mid September with archery, 1st of Oct. for muzzleloading, and today was opening for rifle. Still really good, though.

My ol' lady aunt aint into huntin', altho she do like to fish for Muskies with me. She'll also pitch in when it comes time for butcherin' deer. She likes to shoot my handguns, she'll sit next to me in a turkey blind and she likes to watch the dogs workin' birds, but when it comes to shootin' at something live, she just aint got no desire.

Nice buck. That is a long gun season for sure. We have to wait until late Nov to use a gun in TN. Any good public land in SC so I could head over there and get an early start? Hogs with a handgun are what I would really be after, but nice to hunt deer at the same time.

Good hunting,
Brian
