308 Marlin Express

Would the 308 Marlin Express be a suitable cartridge for the T/C Contender pistol?  I have a barrel that I would like to rechamber to this cartridge if it would be safe.  I would only use factory ammo for this barrel.

It is NOT suitable for the Contender or G2 -- not even with factory ammo.

Should be okay in a TC Encore pistol...........not the Contender though.............
