scope question
« on: October 08, 2007, 12:32:39 PM »
I want to scope my Encore 209x50. I want to use a Leupold 2x7x33  with Leupold Quick Detach bases and rings. Any thoughts on this combination and which ring height would be best would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bo

A call to Leupold would answer your question for sure. I believe the low rings would work. Medium for sure. Byron

I have the exact set up on my 209x.50, Vari-XII 2-7x33 and Leupold medium rings. It works very well for me, the low rings will work I think but as .30.06man said less hammer room.

I've sworn off Leupold quick detach rings since they shot loose on a 375 H&H Mag.  They might work fine on a muzzle loader though.

I've gone to the Warne Maxima quick detachable rings.

I have the QR rings and base for my Encore ML with a new VX-II 3X9X40 with BD reticule.  I wanted to leave the iron sights in place so I had to go with the high rings to clear the rear sight.
