Glacier National Park and Amtrack

My parents 50th anniversary is coming up this summer.  Thinking about hitting Amtrack from MN to Glacier NP.
I looked at their website, but hard to get the info I want.

Anyone been there in July?  What are the must do activities?  How much is lodging?  Etc.

july would be a good time except for the crowds.  Check out the National Park website, they have great info.  If you go by train dont plan on being on time or in a hurry.  But is fun.

Were looking at early to mid June.  Is everything open by June 5th?
