Well back from first time combine rondys of northern WI districts 1-2-3 and turned out well. Friday nite set up camp and then sat around campfire jawing and eating high protein mosquitoes washed down with various liquid refreshments. As everyone knows the mosquitoes here in northern Wi have set off radar warnings at times so you understand their size then . Various demos were held on saturday and families kids got together and fell in swimming beach area LOL!!!!. A babbling brook went through camp site and you went to sleep hearing the brook and woke up to it. Had interesting morning coffee as forgot my fixens for it. A fellow trapper fm Hayward Wi. Tony Kerner said heck let me check my trunk!( Now this is at 5 am and rest of camp at rondy is all sleeping late maybe becuase of ingesting all those high protein mosquitoes with liquids.) Tony pulls out a empty coffee grounds can and small screw on single burner propane stove. Pour a little of the babbling brook water in can, bring to boil, throw in handfull of coffee grounds, let simmer a bit and PRESTO great coffee. Oh by the way the high protein skeeters were still there and covered the top of coffee in can as was boiling. Skeeters must have needed a coffee fix too after munching on sitting trappers sipping liquids!!! Rumor is rondy will be there next year so will put on calendar and leave my coffee fixens at home again LOL>
