This happened a quite a few years back. A buddy - Glen S. - came into the business where I worked. He told me of a very strange encounter that he had while on a hunting trip that weekend. He stated that he was at one of the canyons just north of Red-fish Lake. (Idaho) It was about 10 at night and he and his hunting buddies were sitting around a campfire. Glen stated that they heard a very strange whirling sound coming up the canyon. He stated that he knew it was up in the air and not coming from a vehicle coming up the road. Being pitch black and only with the stars above the noise came over head and then just seem to hoover above them. Glen said that right above them a dim light - very large - appeared and he could not see the stars because the object blocked them out. Glen reported that he and his buddies became so nervous that they stepped away from the light of the fire. Glen being a very strange person decided to shoot at the sound with his trusty 30-06. He said when he fire -the sound - light and object seemed to race up the canyon away from them. This whole story - to me could of been BS. BUT - I explained to Glen that on the same weekend - around 10 pm. We were camped by the lake side just south of Red-fish lake. My wife said look at that light across the lake. I looked to where she was pointing. A light was moving up a canyon above the trees. The light then seemed to stop for a few minutes. It then raced very fast up the canyon and straight into the sky. We were complexed about what the light was - but never gave it too much more of a thought. Until I heard Glen's story. Still do not know what the light was - but it sure moved fast and up into the sky. Have seen strange things in the sky in the past - but then again....Nevada - groom lake and area 51 lies just to the south of us....... :eek:

Yup, thats the one. Good movie. Showed how man can be dangerous when in fear. I wouldn't put it past that happening in real life, the part about shooting first and asking questions later..

Your right, that is the name of the movie. Wonderful movie. I imagine hollywood will remake it someday.
