Just got my 357 max barrel. Cut it to 17 inches. Williams peep added . I was gonna put it on a tamer stock & surviver forend. I put it on this reciever Just to see if it locked up OK.  Figured these stock looks real nice.  The barrel was cut with a sawzall I did the crown with a dremmel. I think it turned out pretty good. What ya guys think? Havent shot it yet. My 2 mth old boy wont let me get out of the house long enough . I ll post a range report asap

Range report -- 357 Max  First time in a long time I shot irn sights. My eyes arnt 20year old anymore. I was shooting 180 grn xtps over 24 grains Reloder7.  At 50 yards I was getting 3 inch groups . Tried 100 yards the front post completly covered the paper, so went back to 50 yards. From standing position. Still 3 inch group  There is hardly any recoil with this gun, the only thing I can compare it to is a 223.  I may try a scope on it just to see what it will  do.    Also shot the 30-06 ultra comp.  165 grain Hornady SST. over 54 grains IMR4350 the best I could was 3inch group. around bullseye. 18 rounds. I polished this barrel 30 rounds ago. Im hoping the groups will shrink a little with a few more rounds . Went bow hunting after that. Seen a real nice 10 pt 60yards or so. Real windy & real warm.  All & All a real good day.    Jay
I dont care what gun Im using as long as Im hunting

That looks good.  Those stocks do look good on it.  I am waiting to hear how it shoots, but don't wake that little one up with the noise.

Carbines are just cool.
Tell us how it shoots.

Nice crown job.  I am going to have to pay Brownells some money for some of those crowning tools.

Jay,
It does sound like you had a good day.  Have you done any polishing on the new 357 Max barrel?  I did stick an "O" ring on the barrel stud before I sent it.
