I have fished bamboo before. It was enjoyable. I will use it for trout on nice days. It has a slower action. I will still use graphite for the hard-core stuff.

I've got several graphite rods but haven't fished bamboo since I was a kid. I decided to go with a Hexagraph rod. It came yesterday. 9' 5-6 weight. Can't wait to get out with it. Regards, Byron
