Hell of a way to end moose season.... link with pictures added!
« on: September 10, 2007, 07:56:21 PM »
Was planning a trip up snow river for a moose hunt wednesday, but today everything went wrong....

Was limbing a tree while clearning property for a buddy of mine when the chainsaw jumped a got me in the foot.  Straight through my brand new danners, and a good gash.  Probably will lay me up for a couple of weeks, but didn't hit anything important.  Thank god for good boots, could have been a lot worse.

Enough time to miss the entire rest of the season....

Be careful....

Just rest up, maybe you can put some feed out in the yard and shoot them from the porch!
Get well soon

Getting better faster than I expected. I can walk on it now, but hurts to bend the big toe too much.  Stitches out on the 21st.  I'm hoping to get the last five days of moose season in, then deer out of whittier october 3,4,5.  Looks really good... considering.  Doctor said the stiffness in the joint from where I hit the bone might never go away, but we will see.

Glad too hear of the progress.
Be aware of overstress too soon, too much--it could lead to more sever problems if you get too anxious.
Time heals most things better than our desire to get well.

Hear ya.  I put a new bar and chain on mine yesterday. It is deadly! Can't believe how fast it cuts.

Hope ya heal soon and can get back into the words.

Went out and caught four silvers today, was making it up and down the beach pretty good.  I was really thinking about going out with a buddy tonight looking for moose... but decided against it.  I think next week and I'll be up for it a little more.

I need to put a new bar on mine... a little bend sends it off on a left curve, pain in the backside. (more of a pain in the foot lately...)

Are you sure about that little bend?  Sharpness (or lack of same) can cause the machine to cut to the side.

No, if you look at the bottom of the bar, the chain sits off the the left, making it pull that way, even with a brand new chain.
