rock river arms
« on: June 18, 2003, 03:05:27 PM »
hi all
i wanted an ar-15 for some fun and target shooting. i'm not looking to win any tournaments, just enjoy myself. anyway, i didn't want to pay too much for the rifle, so i thought i'd buy a complete lower and complete upper separatly and throw them together myself too save some cash. will this have a detrimental effect on the weapons accuracy?
thanks
travis

Hi Travis,

Welcome to the board!

Short answer to your question - no, it won't matter a bit.

I have handled only the CMP gun from Rock River (read some of my other posts - I LIKE it!) and a friend has one of their 24" flattops and both shoot better'n they have a right to. Don't know which model RR has your fancy, but I like mine as well as the Colts and Bushy match guns in the locker.

FWIW, try service rifle highpower! You'll really like it, I gar-on-tee.

O.K. , I can answer now. Don't do that. Join A Cmp affiliated club, shoot Hi-Power with a borrowed rifle if necessary, then buy a Bushmaster AR-15 match rifle for about $870 from the CMP.

You get a great rifle cheap, because these are subsidized by the U.S. gov. for target shooting. Go to the CMP web site & look around.
There are 2 rifle Clubs in the Houston area, one of them has a 600 yd. range. It will be a CMP Club.
