newby problems

I wish I had taken time to read this forum before I bought a Barnett xbow. When I try To cock the xbow the string does not want to catch the trigger assembly.I have to try 2 or 3 times to get it to catch. I called Barnett the guy I talked to told to take a hammer and screwdriver and try to spread the stock some .He thought when they drove the pin that holds the trigger assembly in it might have squeezed it together. After reading some other posts about xbows going off on their own I think I am going to sent it back.It is going up for sale when it comes back.I went and bought a Phoenix hope I have better luck.

You will love the Excaliber. Sorry to hear of your misfortune. NOW Readers who think Barnetts are ok if it was me I would have come unglued on the Barnett Factory Representative. Taking a Hammer and Screwdriver to a bow to fix their mistake is total BS and shows they do not care much about their product or their customer. Since we are talking in part about the cocking mechanism that is acting up that could be dangerous as the safety is of course involved with the mechanism that holds the string cocked. My brother just broke the piece that holds the arrow down to the rail on his Horton Compound. (that little metal flat piece) It was his fault not Hortons he caught it with his rope cocker and broke it. He called for a new part and Horton said no way SEND IT BACK FOR REPAIR. Since the part they claimed was part of the trigger mechanism they did not want any one replaceing it but them. He had it back in about a week. Not bad turnaround and shows they want to take care of their products just like Excaliber does they have an excellent factory service dept. Again Opossum you will love that Phoenix.

I am loving it.Night and day difference between it and the barnett. The fit and finish is a lot better. It shoots great.I am enjoying it as much as I did my compound bows. You still have to get close to the animals just like any other bowhunting.
