Henry .22 Mag accuracy?

It seems a lot of people have good things to say about the Henry lever guns. I'm wondering what sort of accuracy I could expect from one of their .22 WMR's. Any reports of group sizes and ammo preferences would be appreciated.

Well at 50 yards with a 4X scope I shot a 5 shot grroup 4 shots went into a 30 cal hole and one was off just under a half inch to make it a 5 shot half inch group. If I had not pulled the flyer I would have had a 30 cal hole for 5 shots. This was using CCI FMJ ammo which I found to be the most accurate in my gun. Others may shoot differently. Remington Premiom shoots about an inch at 50 and CCI TNT shoots about an inch and a half due to that large hollow point but that is still plenty good enough for critters.  I figure it is just as accurate as any bolt gun.

Thanks for the reply. That is better than I'm getting with my BRNO 611 semi-auto which goes 2 1/2 to 3" at 100 with best ammo, which is about any of the 30-34 grain stuff . That little auto is a sweet little gun, functions flawlessly with all ammo types, and I'd hate to part with it but I would like better accuracy. Hope to hear more from Henry owners. I do a lot of in and out of the truck sort of thing and wonder, can one clear the chamber without feeding another round or must one totally unload the magazine? Colorado law only requires an empty chamber, the magazine can be loaded and it would be a PITA to have to empty the tube every time.

I'm getting "head" size groups at 25-75 yards.

Which means, once I got the scope on (which I had to shim) and sighted in, I have used it on any number of rabbits, possums and raccoons from 25 to 75 yards.  I aim at the head, and hit the head.

Good enough for me.

CCI Maxi mag hollow points.

Unchambering is a pain without getting another one on the carrier.  Turn the tube spring to take the pressure off.  Point gun down and rack it.  Then reset your tube.  The otherway is possible, but not easy.

Thanks, now that I think of it I have used that technique with tube mag .22's in the past, I've just gotten spoiled with the clip. I suspect my BRNO also does "head-size-groups" but I'd like something under 2 MOA.
