HMMM, my cupboard and freazer are full, my house is warm and I haven't seen any soup lines downtown so here in rural southern MN it seems fine.

Local paper had an article five or six weeks ago stating unemployment was 2.2%. Nearly every business has a sign out front that says " Help Wanted".

Got a friend from an other forum that lives in MI that says the State Gov causes more problems than anything else.

Cant tell how the economy is in Sac. CA.  Local only daily says bad,  local #1 talk radio on same day says good.....

Everything is good in my part of Texas.  Even the housing market seems to be doing better than the national average.  In August we sold our home - it was on the market all of 24 hours and we had our first offer.   ;D  The area is growing quite a bit and they are in the process of building 2 or 3 hospitals.  Heck if you're a nurse you could write your own ticket right now.  BTW, I'm in central Texas.

We're alot like Michigan here in N.W.Ohio.(Toledo area) We've had some plant close downs, housing market is way down. There has been house's up for sale for over 6 months and price reduced signs, no money down, still can't sell them. Couple of the big car company's union's have settled contracts, but any new people getting hired start at half of what the usual wage use to be. Now it's $8-$9 to start, instead of $16-$18 an hour. I can head to Columbus, which is about 2.5 hours south, and their economy is in much better shape.  gypsyman
