Boy Scout saves leader of the Maldives

Quote
COLOMBO, Sri Lanka -- The president of the Maldives was saved from assassination Tuesday when a 15 year old boy scout grabbed the knife of an attacker who had jumped out of a crowd greeting the leader, an official said.

Not that I personally support the president of the Maldives, but the prevention of assassination I do support.  And here it is a Boy Scout who follows the lessons taught by that code of ethical standards.  Yet, in Philadelphia the Boy Scouts are being persecuted by this city for not allowing gays to join its membership.  According to city code, it is illegal to use city facilities by any group that discriminates against gays.  It just so happens that the city's DA is gay.  However, the city entered into a contract with the Boy Scout troop in the early 1900's to allow the Boy Scouts to use a city building for its meeting place in perpetuity for a $1.00 a year rent for meritorious services to the community.  Now Philadelphia leaders want to charge the Boy Scouts over $200,000 a year in rent using the excuse of renting property below market value and violation of gay rights, even though the US Supreme Court has ruled in favor of the Boy Scouts membership policy against gays.
Now we have one of those International members who has prevented an assassination of a government leader at risk to his own life.  Which policy do you believe is just and honorable?  It makes me ashamed to say I'm from Pennsylvania, thankfully it is from and not resident of.

Unfortunately there is a very large effort from many fronts to force the Boy Scouts to accept gay kids and scoutmasters, atheists, and so on. It is a real shame! They are a private organization, with it's own rules. How many white players have ever been the Harlem GlobeTrotters? Don't see anyone making an issue over it. How many non-blacks are in the Harlem Boy's Choir; same thing. Many, many examples exist on the one hand, but the extremists are concentrated on the BSA. It is a real shame

IMHO this attack on the Boy Scouts is a national movement by queers (I do not have to be politically correct) to gain media attention.  The attention is needed to sway public opinion to the idea that sexual personal preference is a protected right and needs addressed legally.  They want their partners to have the same benefits as a married couple, thus increasing all benefit costs to everyone.  They want legal protection from discrimination due sexual preference in the work force.  They want to enforce their standard of living as acceptable to the populace and treated equally.  So do criminals, not that they are criminals.  It is just that the Constitution of the US does not grant equal rights due to sexual preference.  This is what they want changed and this is their agenda.  I for one disagree with extending this right to sexual preference.  They are so consumed with getting this right that they do not care what moral institutions may be damaged or harmed with their manifesto.
