Springfield "Loaded" Target Model .45 sights
« on: September 17, 2008, 05:50:12 AM »
My Springfield Loaded Target 1911-A1 .45 turned out to be a great pistol!  I would like to know if there is a Bomar style rear sight that has a white outline, and a front sight with a vertical white outline.  The Rear adjustable sight is stamped Springfield Armory and is very similar to Bomars rear sight.  Does Springfield have the drop in sights mentioned above?  I don't need the entire rear sight such as the base, just the white outlined blade assembly, and the front sight.  I just need the parts.  Has anyone out there done the same?  Suggestions welcome.
This is a very accurate pistol, and very reliable (1000 rnds).  I would like the option of the white outline in low light conditions.  The target (all black) just disappears in low light and a dark background.  I would like the pistol for woods running as well as target shooting.  Home defense as well.  The white outline would be a plus.
RKBA!

Norseman:  contact Springfield and see what they have for rear sight blades with white outlines.  I suggest Springfield nto knowing if they actually use a Bomar rear sight or if it is their own and whether someone elses rear blade would fit their assembly.

Regarding the front sight with a white stripe - check with Mid-South,one of our sponsors or with Brownells - I got one for a rifle from them years ago.  I would imagine that if your front sight is a drift in dovetail they should have what you need.  HTH.  Mikey.
